Having worked with such a variety of health conditions and having my own, makes me passionate about offering counselling to those who struggle with their health and those that care for loved ones too.

I’ve been involved in all aspects of care work since 1995. These areas include:

● Working in a nursing home
● Carer to my partner for 2 years
● Supporting adults with learning difficulties
● Supporting adults with sight loss
● Assessing and planning the care needs of adults for Norfolk Social Services
● Supporting a client with dementia in her own home and supporting a young person
with cerebral palsy to live independently
● Massage therapist for past 10 years
● Living with my own health conditions

Why did I train as a counsellor?
Simply because I have had counselling over the years and I know how beneficial it’s been for me. I then wanted to be sat in the therapist chair helping others to overcome their challenges and difficulties. I also found with my massage work that clients felt safe to open up to me about their problems and struggles and so I felt I needed to train as a counsellor. I’m passionate about empowering others, to find solutions, to help people take control and move forward in a more positive way.

About Paula

Why have I decided to help clients with health conditions and illness and carers?

There seems to be so little help for the emotional and psychological effects of poor health and for carers. I have found this myself and I’ve heard it many times over. I feel this is a very neglected yet crucial area that people need support during these difficult times. I have years of experience of working with a range of people in different areas of their life and that’s why Ifeel I understand the difficulties you face. If you are looking for help and support through this difficult time and would like to discuss your problems and maybe find some solutions to help you feel happier and more positive, then I’d love to hear from you.
